Florence G. Petty, 78, of Franklin, formerly of Edinburgh, went to dance with God at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13. 2013, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
Mrs. Petty had worked in food service at Franklin College and Cracker Barrel and was a member of Edinburgh United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star No. 438 in Franklin. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, crossword puzzles and her faith in the Lord.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the Kresge Chapel at the Indiana Masonic Home, 690 State St., Franklin, with the Rev. Kevin Reed officiating. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation or the Indiana Masonic Home.
Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Dec. 15, 1934, Mrs. Petty was the daughter of Alvin J. Kelley and D. Myrtle Ballard Kelley. She married L. Wayne Petty April 15, 1962.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Kevin Wayne (Diana) Petty of Indianapolis; a daughter, Kimberly S. (Carlos) Valera of Sugarland, Texas; grandchildren, Gabrielle and Zachary Wayne Petty of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Olland Kelley and Charles Kiefer; and a sister, Jewell Kiefer.
