Don Hardwick 65 of Franklin passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his residence.
He was born March 26, 1947 in Harriman, Tennessee to Arlis G. and Bessie (Hamby) Hardwick. He married Sue Ellen (Kirts) Hardwick on December 19, 1971 in Nashville, and she survives.
Mr. Hardwick had been a tool and die maker for Arvin Industries in Franklin and Ogleville for 34 years and then working for Overton Carbide Tool and Die Engineers in Franklin for seven years retiring in 2007. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Deer Valley Golf Course, where he was a member of the men's league.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran and was a member of Franklin American Legion Post. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of the Lord and was strong in his faith.
Survivors include his wife Sue Ellen (Kirts) Hardwick of Franklin; daughter, Krissy S. Hardwick of Franklin; grandson Tully Hardwick-McKee of Franklin; father, Arlis G. Hardwick of Franklin; brother, Daryl Hardwick (Deborah) of Frankfort, Ill.; an aunt, Rema Jong of Greenwood; a niece, Linsey Hardwick of Frankfort, Ill., and several cousins.
The Reverend John Young and Doug Weddle will conduct a service Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1718 or the donor’s favorite charity.
