Wilma E. Loh, 94, a resident of The Waters of Rising Sun, passed away there Saturday morning, Jan. 19, 2013.
Wilma was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Ohio County, to William and Myrtle Kinnett Wehmeyer. To this union three children were born, Wilma, James and Omer. Her parents and both of her brothers preceded her in death.
Wilma graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1938. She married George Loh in April of 1940 and he passed away Jan. 24, 1995.
From 1952 to 1966, Wilma and George resided in the Cass Union School area and Wilma was very active in PTA work. She also was involved in Happy Homemakers and helped in the county extension office setting up activities for 4-H and home economics clubs. She resided in Batesville for 40 years and was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Batesville.
In November of 2009, Wilma became a resident of The Waters of Rising Sun.
Surviving are her three children, Donna (Wayne) Uhlmansiek of West Chester, Ohio, Dennis (Brenda) Loh of Columbus and Gary (Elizabeth) Loh of Elizabethtown, IN; five grandchildren, Kathryn Uhlmansiek Statzer (Kevin), David Uhlmansiek (Kristi), Gregory Loh (Amy), Rebecca Loh and Christina Loh Smith (Nathan); and nine great-grandchildren, ages 3 -11.
A celebration of Wilma's life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro, with Pastor Larry Dimick officiating. Friends may meet her family on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora.
Memorials may be given to Batesville United Methodist Church or to the MS Society.
