Omer G. Rieckers, 90, of Brownstown, died at 3:48 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Rieckers is survived by his wife, Nora Brown Rieckers; sons, Randall (Deloris) Rieckers of Brownstown and Roger (Tammy) Rieckers of Georgetown; daughters, Diane (Phil) Darlage, Carolyn (Glenn) Benter and Judy (Don Jr.) Myers, all of Seymour, and Kay (Randy) Ude of Brownstown; stepsons, Kendall Brown of Atoka, Tenn., Grant (Sandy) Brown of Versailles and William English of Virginia; stepdaughters, Deidre Tranter of Cherokee, N.C., Jodi Brown of Osgood, Vickie Loyo and Kathy Combs, both of Seymour, and Terri Montgomery of Franklin; sisters, Dorothy Hischke of Columbus and Doloris (Norman) Eggersman of Seymour; 10 grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Wilma Auffenberg Rieckers and Mary English Rieckers.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown and at the church from noon until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, or Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
