Wallace W. Fuchs, 91, of Waldron, died at 2:12 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Waldron Health & Rehab.
Mr. Fuchs was the son of Roy Fuchs and Bessie Monroe Fuchs. He born June 20, 1921, in Shelby County, and was a lifelong resident of the area. He married Virginia Jenkins May 21, 1939.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald (Naomi) Fuchs of Shelbyville and Ronald (Jane) Fuchs of Waldron; four grandchildren, Kevin, Matthew, Julie and Jeffery Fuchs; five great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Norman Fuchs, and an infant brother.
Mr. Fuchs attended Waldron High School. He worked a short time at Admiral Corp., before joining Amos Plastics in Edinburgh, retiring after 25 years as traffic manager. He had been self employed in painting and wallpapering and also worked for Coers & Son Painting & Wallpapering.
He was a member of Blue Ridge Christian Union Church and a former member of Manilla Lions Club. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture, loved his church and family, and enjoyed a longtime tradition of Sunday evening family meals.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Christian Union Church with the Rev. Dennis Hirschauer and the Rev. Brandon Sutton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Shelby County.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Blue Ridge Christian Union Church.
