Fern L. Strimple, 89, of Osgood, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Willow Crossing in Columbus.
She was born near Milan May 23, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Edith Irene White Demaree. She was married to Norman Strimple in 1945. He preceded her in death Aug. 22, 1987.
Survivors include one daughter, Bobbie Fellerman of Columbus; one son, Wix Strimple of Braden, Fla.; grandsons, Marcus (Tanya) Strimple of Madison, Wis., Matthew (Emily) Strimple of Fort Wayne, and Ethan Strimple of Muncie; one brother, Jack (Betty) Demaree of Versailles; two sisters, Vivian (Fred) Storie of Madison and Norma Lee Meacham of Rantoul, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Michael Strimple; brothers, Charles (Sonny) Demaree and Edward Demaree; and sisters, Faye Sloan and Edna Horton.
Mrs. Strimple was a 1941 graduate of Versailles High School and was a former employee of Osgood Dry Cleaners and G.A. Tripletts Pharmacy at Osgood. She was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church and had served as a Cub Scout den mother.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Don Buck officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will be at Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.
