Norma L. Burton, 83, of Edinburgh, died at 11:41 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Mrs. Burton had worked as a nurse's aide at Faith Nursing Home in Edinburgh and as a nurse's aide and in the laundry department at the Methodist Home in Franklin. She was past president of Edinburgh American Legion Auxiliary No. 233 and was a member of Edinburgh Veterans of Foreign Wars from 1998 to 2000.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading and crocheting.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with the Rev. Terry England officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Born in Noblesville March 13, 1929, Mrs. Burton was the daughter of Thomas Swinford and Bessie M. Shaul Swinford. She married William "Rusty" Burton, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Deidre L. "Dee" Burton of Edinburgh; her companion, Harry Miller of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Keisha L. Burton and Dakota K. Burton; and a great-grandson, Kolten D. Bryant.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
