Hazel Schonfeld, 92, formerly of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at 4:05 p.m. at Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville, Indiana.
Mrs. Schonfeld had worked in the accounting department at Columbus Regional Hospital. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and was a former member of Sweet Adelines singing group. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Born in Jackson County January 30, 1920, she was a daughter of Charles and Ruth (Ackert) Reedy. She married Raymond Schonfeld and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Margie Lucas and Ruby (Bob) Daemes; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren..
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Patricia Shaw; a granddaughter, Robbin Cook; and a brother, Kenneth Reedy.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 2, at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown from 1 to 3 p.m. Pastor Lawrence Isbell and Pastor Ed Boone will officiate the funeral service that begins at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.
