Kathleen M. Daeger, 93, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday at 11a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in North Vernon with the Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating. Interment will be at St. Ann’s Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon. A rosary service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Born May 1, 1919, in Jennings County, Kathleen was the daughter of James and Sarah McCann Wickens. She married Otto G. Daeger May 10, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1976.
Mrs. Daeger worked 20 years at Regal Rugs. A member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, she loved singing, cooking and yodeling.
Survivors include her sons, Phillip (Rosie), Bill (Cindy), and Tony (Joyce) Daeger, of North Vernon; daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Campbell, Janet (Joe) Campbell, Patty (Pat) Cardinal, Kathy (Matt) Hurley, Linda (Frank) Kovacich, and JoAnn (Dale) Wernke, all of North Vernon; one brother, Hugh Wickens of Bellville, IL; sisters, Virginia Wickens of North Vernon, Terese Bruns of Millhousen, and Mable Byers of Bedford; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John, James, Phillip, and Daniel Wickens; and sisters, Marjorie and Mary Wickens.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Ann's Cemetery, St. Mary’s School, or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
