Elsie Mae Spurgeon, 74, of Scipio, died at 6:50 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Spurgeon; two sons, Robin (Angela) Spurgeon of North Vernon, and Jonathan (Dorretta) Spurgeon of Columbus; three daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Ray and Joyce Smith, both of Scipio, and Roberta (Jim) Miracle of North Vernon; five brothers, Carl (Lee) Acton and Donald (Dorothy) Acton, both of Cortland, Irvin (Carolyn) Acton and Wendell (Gayle) Acton, both of Seymour, and Herrell (Judy) Acton of Acme; two sisters, Donna Griffith and Alberta Marshall, both of Seymour; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Scipio.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Diabetes Association.
