William Daniel “Dan” Bowman, 84, formerly of Brownstown, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Bill) Elser, Naples, Fla., and Rachel (Mike) Combs, Lindale, Texas; three stepchildren, Gary Jackson, Brownstown, Jerry (Debbie) Jackson, Brownstown, and Gail (Floyd) Penrod, Fisher; two brothers, Dale (Nella) Bowman, Seymour, and Doug Bowman, Brownstown; two sisters, Sara Warren and Mary Jane Fleetwood both of Brownstown; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jackson Bowman, and a daughter, Aletha Ann Bowman Wray.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brownstown Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Hogg officiating. Calling will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church. Private family burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brownstown Christian Church or Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospice.
