Virginia Alice Short, 89, of Paris Crossing, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Commiskey.

She is survived by three sons, William (Margaret) Short of Henryville, Dwight (Janet) Short of Deputy, and James (Gail) Short of Commiskey; four daughters, Beverly (Robert) Davenport of Milan, Mich., Theresa (Gary) Farley of Seymour, Sharon (Bill) Schneider of North Vernon, and Nancy (Mark) Wright of Commiskey; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jay Short.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11a.m. Monday at Tea Creek Baptist Church in Lovett, with the Rev. Dan Corbin officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday, all at the church. Burial will be at Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery in Paris Crossing.

Memorial contributions may be made through Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
