Margaret Shoaf, age 87, of Hope, passed peacefully Friday, March 8, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Margaret was born December 5, 1925 in Frankfort, Ky. to Ollie and Nannie Rice Brooks. She had worked at Atterbury Job Corps and Retired from Cummins Engine Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Shoaf; and a son, Fred Younger.
She is survived by a daughter, Vicki Amos of Taylorsville; and a son, Tim Shoaf of Hope. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Carrie Jackson of North Vernon, Johnna Johnson of Taylorsville, Sawyer Shoaf of Hope, and Dustin Shoaf of Greenwood; two great-grandsons ,and one great-great-granddaughter.
Margaret was known to have a good sense of humor and enjoyed a good banter. Though she lived her adult life in Indiana, she never forgot and was very proud of her bluegrass roots.
At Margaret’s request, there will be no viewing and her remains will be interred at a private graveside service which will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
