Wilma G. Petro, 88, of Columbus, died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Wilma was a homemaker, a member of Women of the Moose and attended First Christian Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Al White officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to time of service Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Born in Bedford, Kentucky, February 25, 1925, Wilma was the daughter of Jack and Katie E. Connell Singer. She married Benjamin Roy Petro June 27, 1947.

Survivors include a half brother, Jim Dunn, and a half sister, Bonnie Grant, both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 31, 1998; a daughter, Debra K. Hathaway on October 7, 2009; brothers, John William and Arthur Leroy Singer; and sisters, Dorothy Hayes and Edna Singer.
