William E. "Bill" Markham, 81, of Columbus, died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Mr. Markham was an engineer at Cummins Engine Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1986. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was an avid reader and golfer and enjoyed coin collecting, old movies and opera. He also was an animal lover.
A private funeral service will be conducted at Hathaway-Myers Chapel. There will be no calling. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Middlesboro, Ky., July 2, 1931, Mr. Markham was the son of Charles E. and Leila White Markham. He married June E. Faulkner March 14, 1952, in Seymour.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Susan (Dr. David) Wilson of Columbus, Linda Markham of Indianapolis and Karen (Jon) Markham-Mitchell of Chicago, IL; a brother, Charles David (Marian) Markham of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Tony Moss of Columbus, Natalie (Kurt) Decker of Evansville, IN, and Amber (Greg) Weimholt of Alhambra, CA; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
