Loren H. Hoeltke, age 81 of Atlantis, Fla., passed away March 22, 2013. He was born December 2, 1931 in Columbus, to Henry and Clara (Arnholt) Hoeltke. Loren was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. After being discharged, Loren started his banking career. Highlights include being a founding officer of Flagler National Bank and President and CEO of Hilton Head National Bank. After retiring in 1995, Loren and Ruth moved back to Palm Beach County, where he continued being active in Kiwanis and the Phi Delta Theta alumni association.
Loren is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ruth Wells Hoeltke (d. 2012); he is survived by son and daughters, Mark (Margaret) Hoeltke of Lake Worth, Fla., Amy (Joe) Carter of Columbia, S.C. and Vicki Lehr of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; grandchildren, Ben (Angie) and John Hoeltke, Nicole (Jesse) Proulx, Emory Ziegler, Andrea and Christina Lehr; great-grandchildren, Alex and Isis Hoeltke.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26th, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 S. Olive Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Entombment will follow at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Southeast Florida Chapter, P.O. Box 22594, West Palm Beach, FL 33416.
