Fontella Fish, 91, of Chapa Drive, died at 3:55 am. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Fontella was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she and her husband served a temple mission at the Washington, D.C., Temple from 1986 to 1988. They also served a temple mission in Chicago.
She enjoyed painting, sewing, dancing, tap dancing and genealogy research. Fontella also loved spending time with her family.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, with Bishop Bryan Busselburg officiating. Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and at the church Saturday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at New Harmony Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple Fund.
Born in Tunnelton, IN, Oct. 18, 1921, Fontella was the daughter of William Oscar Guthrie and Hattie Mae Bailey Guthrie. She married Theodore O. Fish Nov. 20, 1942. He preceded her in death July 5, 1994.
She is survived by sons, Gary (Carolyn) Fish of Dayton, OH, Randy (Marsha) Fish of Columbus, IN, and Rick Fish of Highland, UT; a daughter, Cindy (Bob) Hedger of Columbus, IN; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Carl H. Guthrie; a sister, Jennie Mae Roberts; and a grandson, John Gary Fish.
