Billy C. Greenfield, 88, of Columbus, died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Bill was born on March 19, 1925, in Columbus, to the late Joshua and Bertha Hurley Greenfield. He married Lucille Biggerstaff April 19, 1964. She preceded him in death July 30, 2007. He married Sylvia Fisher June 30, 2008, and she survives.
Bill attended and was a member of Columbus Free Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. He loved his Savior and always smiled when he was able to witness to others. He was a gunner in the U.S. Navy during World War II and formerly worked at Golden Foundry.
Bill enjoyed reading and talking about his early days in the Navy.
Services and visitation will be private for the family. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery, with military rites performed by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sylvia; a daughter, Dorothy Redlin of New Jersey; a son, Dan Greenfield of Georgia; a stepgrandchild, Sherri Godsey of Columbus; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Brandon and Christopher of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and a brother.
