Mary E. Mulroney, 87, of Greensburg, passed away at 10:24 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg.
She was born December 21, 1925, in Ripley County, the daughter of Emmett and Florence Mary (Heinrich) Taylor. She moved to Decatur County at the age of 12 and was a resident of Sardinia for 51 years. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1944 and retired in 1983 from Cummins Engine Company after 27½ years of service.
She was a member of Sardinia Baptist Church and Mission Circle where she had taught Sunday school and the Junior Boys. She enjoyed cross stitch, reading and crocheting.
She married Wilfred L. Mulroney March 28, 1946, in Jordanville, New York. He preceded her in death January 11, 2000.
Survivors include sons, Wilfred D. (Tammie) Mulroney of Greensburg and Robert D. (Virginia) Mulroney of Westport; a sister, June (John) Tumilty of Greensburg; a brother, Donald Taylor of Greensburg; four grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Stella Jane Millholland, Alta Taylor and Lois Taylor; brothers, Richard Taylor and Roy Taylor; and a grandson, Michael Dean Mulroney.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Tom Rust officiating. Burial will follow at Westport Cemetery. A time for visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society and Aspen Place Health Campus Activity Fund.
