Prentice Cooper Neal, age 74, of Cookeville, TN, formerly of Columbus, IN, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at his residence with his wife and three daughters by his side.
Cooper was born October 19, 1938, in Forbus, TN, the son of the late Freeman and Effie (Crouch) Neal. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas Neal and Dennis Neal; and one sister, Naola Price.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Crockett Neal; three daughters, Kimberly White-Herman and husband Scott of Cookeville, TN, Kathryn (Kat) Yeager and husband Kevin of Nashville, IN, and Victoria Baker and husband Randy of Columbus, IN; two grandsons, Dylan and Zane Yeager of Bloomington, IN; two granddaughters, Taylor and Matison Baker; one great-granddaughter, Graesyn Cooper Steinkoenig of Columbus, IN; and one sister, Joyce Conatser and husband Buster of Jamestown, TN.
A 1957 graduate of York High School, Cooper retired from Navistar in Indianapolis, IN, as a pattern maker. He was a Master Mason of Lodge No. 643 in Sunnybrook, KY, and obtained his Scottish Rites on April 11, 1992.
Cooper was a member of Elizabethtown Christian Church and a former deacon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working in his garden and yard, watching NASCAR and college football.
A private graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. April 5, 2013, at Garland Brook Cemetery, with Brother Doran Chambers officiating.
Memorial services will follow at Elizabethtown Christian Church at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elizabethtown Christian Church.
