Mrs. Elsie J. (Howard) Day, 61, of Seymour, passed away Friday April 5, 2013, from this life to be with her Lord.
Elsie was born, April 2, 1952 in Hyden, Kentucky; she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Oma (Witt) Howard.
On February 12, 1977, in Seymour, IN she married William “Bill” Day, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2007.
Elsie was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church in Seymour. She worked 30 years at Valeo Sylvania, was an avid bowler with her Monday Night Ladies.
She will always be remembered for her devoted love for her children, granddaughters, family and friends. Elsie was always at home in the kitchen as she loved cooking and baking for all she met.
Elsie was loved and will be greatly missed by her children, Autumn J. (Timothy) Weber and Larry W. (Kristina) McIntosh; the joy of her life, granddaughters, Sophia Joy Weber and Valerie Marie McIntosh; brothers, Reed Howard, James Howard, Leslie “Les” Howard and Lawrence Howard Jr.; her sisters, Norma Nantz, Lola Wilson, Shirley Burkhart, Phyllis Dixon, Gayla Howard, Reva Dixon, Bonnie Franklin, Connie Ridgeway, and Penny Haywood; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brother, L.O. Howard; and sisters, Ollie Howard and Goldie Howard.
Funeral Services will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Franklin officiating.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Tuesday, April, 9th from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday after 9 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
Memorials may be written to Riley Hospital for Children or March of Dimes.
