Atlee Paul Kohlenberg II, 50, of Scipio, Indiana, passed away at 9 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1962, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Theresa B. Bergmann Kohlenberg and the late Robert Atlee Kohlenberg. He married Noriko Toriumi April 24, 2006, in Japan. She survives.
Mr. Kohlenberg worked as systems engineer at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, for 15 years. He was a former member of North Vernon Masonic Lodge No. 59, F.&A.M. and a 1980 graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis. Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved anything in nature, especially rocks. He enjoyed playing tennis and guitar, reading, learning new things, taking on challenging tasks and living life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Noriko, and being in the company of his close coworkers and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Noriko Kohlenberg of Scipio, Indiana; one son, Michael Shepherd of Scipio, Indiana; one daughter, Tonya Shepherd of College Station, Texas; and his mother, Theresa Kohlenberg of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Dana.
