Jane Guthrie Ellsworth, 87, of Seymour, IN, passed away on April 15, 2013, at the Lutheran Community Home.
Born September 16, 1925, in Terre Haute, IN, she was the daughter of Peter and Helga (Jensen) O’Connell. She married Frank William Guthrie, who was the father of her children, and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1995. On October 25, 1995, she married Richard Ellsworth who preceded her in death on November 28, 1999.
Jane was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Columbus, IN. She was a homemaker and a volunteer for Hospice of South Central Indiana and Columbus Regional Hospital. She was an avid reader, golfer and grandparent.
She is survived by her children, Frank W. (Barb) Guthrie and Carol L. Guthrie; and grandsons, Frank William (Sarah) Guthrie II and Ryan Guthrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and her brother, Joseph J. O’Connell.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2651 California Street, Columbus, IN, on Friday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Marc Vance officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Friday.
Memorials may be written to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Columbus, IN, or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
