William Ray Hendrix, 80, of Paris Crossing, Indiana, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood, Indiana.
Mr. Hendrix was born August 6, 1932, in Richmond, Kentucky, the son of Frank D. and Dellaree Rhodes Hendrix. He married Nancy Sue Von Dissen September 27, 1952, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She survives.
Mr. Hendrix was a farmer in the Paris Crossing, Indiana, area for 60 years. He also worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and did electrical work for the Indianapolis Airport, Greenwood Shopping Center and Graham Creek School.
He was a member of Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing, Indiana. He loved to work and enjoyed hunting, fishing, storytelling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; his three children, William Von "Billy" (Charlotte) Hendrix, Mark Allen (Mary) Hendrix and Gail (Steve) McIntosh, all of Paris Crossing, Indiana; his sister, Helen Taylor of Greenwood, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tony Ray Hendrix; a grandson, Ryan McIntosh; and a brother, Lenord Hendrix.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing, Indiana, with Brother Jim Soblotne and the Rev. Ronnie McKinney officiating. Friends may call at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery in Paris Crossing, Indiana.
