Larry G. Redford, 64, of Westport, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
He was born August 22, 1948, in Columbus, the son of Minton Alan “Pete” Redford, Sr. and Vivian Vernice (Henry) Redford Sinclair. He was raised in Azalia and had been a Westport resident for the past 42 years. He was owner and operator of Redford Trucking which leased to M-Hart Express at Hope and was a former employee of Stadler Meat Packing Plant, Arvin Industries Gladstone Plant and Dolly Madison Bakery.
He was a member of Westport Baptist Church and enjoyed doing carpentry work and his grandchildren.
He married Janet Elaine Baldwin in Westport April 9, 1972, and she survives; along with his daughters, Samantha Leigh (AJ) Bright, Andrea Jean (Caleb) Cruser and Nicole Marie (Josh) Clark, all of Westport; his son, Christopher Michael Redford of Westport; his sister, Jacqueline (Gordon Alan) Richards of Michigan; his brother, Minton Alan (Connie) Redford Jr. of Hope; his grandchildren, Natasha Bruce, Colton Bright, Kionna Bright, Austin Clark, Maverick Clark and Rylie Cruser, all of Westport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Chester Floyd Sinclair, and an infant son.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating. Burial will follow at Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
