Dorothy L. Clouse, 87, of Crothersville, passed away at 9:08 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Scott Memorial Hospital.
Born November 12, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of Russell and Mabel (Daily) Bowman.
Dorothy was a 1944 graduate of Crothersville High School. She was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church, where she was very active in the choir, and also was a member of Friday Magazine Club in Seymour, and Happy Apronette’s Home Ec Club. She had won awards at the Indiana State Fair for her crocheting.
Dorothy retired from the former U.S. Shoe Corp., as a top stitcher.
On February 2, 1946, she married Raymond “Mick” Clouse, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Clouse of Crothersville; a son, Rick (Janie) Clouse of Scottsburg; four grandchildren, Dale Hurley of Kalamazoo, MI, Troy (Kim) Hurley of Santa Barbara, CA, Lee (Melanie) White of Scottsburg, and Daniel (Dawn) Halfacre of Columbus, IN; and four great-grandchildren, Brandon and Zachary Hurley of Kalamazoo, MI, and Liam and Cassie Hurley of Santa Barbara, CA.
A daughter, Wanda Lockert, and a brother, Kenneth Bowman, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with burial to follow at Uniontown Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
