Colleen Rork, 84, of Edinburgh, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
She was born September 6, 1928, in Anderson, the daughter of Richard Elmer and Florence Marie (Sturgis) Gwin. At the age of 6, she moved to Nebraska, Indiana, and was raised by John and Blanche Gwin. After her marriage, she moved to Westport.
She graduated in 1947 from Zenas High School and was employed as secretary for Columbus Scale Company for 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and bowling.
She married Donald Rork Sr. October 5, 1947, in Westport. He preceded her in death October 11, 1999.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Jane Rork of Fort Wayne; her sister-in-law, Betty (Mitchell) Coombs of Cumming, Georgia; her stepsisters, Reba (Ray) Sims of Waynesburg, Kentucky, Noval (Richard) Brunsman of McComb, Ohio, and Charlotte Koons of Richmond; her stepbrothers, Gary (Judy) Poe of Union City, California, and Arnold Poe of Clearwater, California; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Anthony Richard Rork Sr. and Donald Rork Jr.; a stepsister, Maxine Jobe; and a stepbrother, Donald Keenan.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. Alan Rork officiating. Burial will follow in Rockcreek Cemetery. Friends may call at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the American Heart Association or Disabled Veterans of America.
