Sue Ann (Nienstedt) Alexander, 76, of Thornville, OH, formerly of Westport, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, OH. She was born July 10, 1936, in Rushville, IN, to the late Walter and Mary (Levi) Nienstedt.
She was a 1954 graduate of Rushville High School. A Christian by faith, Sue was a member of the Senior Extension Club of Perry County and Homemakers Club of Westport, IN. In 2010, she was the recipient of the Perry County Homemaker of the Year award. She was an avid reader, seamstress, quilter and sports fan. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, including needle point.
She is survived by her loving family: husband, Dr. George Alexander; her children, George and wife JoLynn Alexander, Angela and husband Ron Hackney, Judson and wife Kathy Alexander and Marna and husband Doug Clippinger; grandchildren, Brock and wife Becky Findlay, Patsy Alexander, Brandon Findlay and his fiancée Deanna, Roy and wife Mariann Alexander, Mallory Alexander and fiancé Josh, Ryan and wife Heather Alexander, Carrie Clippinger and Kaitlyn Alexander; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jane Stumpf and Ingeborg Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service celebrating Sue's life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville, where friends are welcome to share memories from 4 to 6 p.m. that afternoon.
