Beverly E. Downing, 58, of 16th Street, passed from this life at 7:53 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Downing had worked in the Bartholomew County Prosecutor's Office and from 2000-2012; she then worked in the ESC Department at Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation.

She was a faithful member and former youth group leader at Garden City Church of Christ.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Garden City Church of Christ with Ron Voss and John Sichting officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Garden City Church of Christ.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home.

Born in Columbus March 2, 1955, Mrs. Downing was the daughter of Henry T. and Rosemary Morris Bowman. She married Bryant W. Downing April 20, 1979.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years; children, Michael (Staci) Downing of Franklin and Kimberly Graves of Columbus; grandchildren, Jacob Prewitt, Noah Sanford and Alexander Downing; brothers, Brian (Margie) Bowman of Tucson, Ariz., and Loren Krieg of Columbus; sisters, Linda Bowman and Delores (Ray III) Marr both of Indianapolis; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Downing was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Henry T. Bowman Jr.
