James J. Waygood Jr., age 84, of Greencastle, formerly of Columbus, IN, and Pocono Pines, PA, passed into the presence of his Savior on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Born June 9, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of James J. and Emma L. (Miller) Waygood Sr. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War.
Jim was an electrical engineer for 28 years, retiring in 1983 from Cummins Engine Company, Columbus, IN.
Survivors include his daughters, Janice W. (William) Zehner of Camarillo, CA, Joanne W. (Tony) Cole of Greencastle, and Jennifer (Tom) Pierce of Indianapolis; a brother, Charles M. (Carole) Waygood of Pocono Pines, PA; four grandchildren, Jamison J. Zehner, David J. (Pamela) Zehner, Dwight A. (Tracy) Cole II, and Tameka M. Cole; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62½ years, Jean C. (Cramton) Waygood, on August 10, 2011; his parents; and two sisters, Kathryn Waygood and Mary Brower.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.
