Linnie P. Burton, 91, of Columbus, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Burton was a homemaker. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting baby blankets and flower gardening. She attended Pilgrim Holiness Church in Franklin.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh with the Rev. Timothy Forsee officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Gideons International.
Born in Adair County, Ky., May 25, 1921, Mrs. Burton was the daughter of Lige Sallee and Laura Burton Sallee. She married Clarence B. Burton May 28, 1937. He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Barkes of Columbus and Cathy (Randy) Williams of Edinburgh; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Walden, Sherry Kearschner, Gregory Kendall, Derek Barkes, Richard Burton, Eric Burton, Craig Burton, Scott Williams and Sarah Williams; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Lawrence Burton; a daughter, Joyce Walden; a granddaughter, Cynthia Walden; and brothers, Hansel, Edgar, Paul, Bill and Russell Sallee.
