John P. Clegg, 84, of Nashville, died at 10 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at Brown County Health and Living.
John was born in Surrey, England, April 27, 1929, to the late Percival and Margaret Cooke Clegg. He married Joyce Rogers April 17, 1951. A former Cummins employee, he retired from Grimmer-Schmidt Corp.
John served in the Royal Air Force Costal Command as a member of the Air/Sea Rescue and was past president of Columbus Lions Club. He enjoyed vintage cars and motorcycles, airplanes, sailing and working on projects to improve or invent something new.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Debbie Ralston officiating. Family and friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

John is survived by his wife, Joyce Clegg of Nashville; sons, Stephen (Heidi) Clegg of Denmark, Bruce (Donna) Clegg of Nashville, and Joseph (Helene) Clegg of Seymour; a stepson, Derek (Janet) Reeves of Florida; grandchildren, Christopher (Kim) Clegg, George Clegg, Camilla Clegg, Samuel Clegg and Maysa Clegg; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Clegg Jr., and Joshua Clegg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
