Wilford T. "Bill" Chaney, 87, of Cave City, Kentucky, formerly of Columbus, died at 12:09 a.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Ky.
Mr. Chaney was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific.
He was a retired tool and die maker with Product Engineering Company in Columbus.
Bill was a faithful member of Pink Ridge Baptist Church in Edmonton, Ky. and before moving back to Kentucky, he enjoyed membership at the Bartholomew County Senior Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dr. Gary Ervin officiating.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time Wednesday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Horse Cave, Ky., March 5, 1926, Mr. Chaney was the son of Clyde and Eulah Atwell Chaney. He married Deloise Helen Ervin April 15, 1944. She preceded him in death June 2, 2002.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Ervin Chaney; step-sons, Gary Ervin and wife Marcella of Greensburg, Ky. and Bobby Ervin and wife, Sherri of Edmonton, Ky.; step-daughters, Carol England Chaney and husband, Roger of Edmonton, Ky., Nancy Shoultz and husband, Anthony of Glasgow, Ky., and Tammy Deckard and husband, Rodney of Edmonton, Ky.; a brother, Alton Chaney of Indianapolis; a sister, Elra Ferguson of Columbus; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; brothers, Lee and Earl Chaney; and a sister, Eva Smith.
