Mildred M. Love, 81, of Columbus, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Willow Crossing Health Care Center on Central Avenue.
Mildred was born in Columbus, July 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Henry Edward and Mary Katherine Regan Garris. She married Harold Love on June 2, 1949 in Bartholomew County.
She was a homemaker in her own home, was an Avon representative and helped her husband, Harold, at the family shoe repair shop for many years. For the past 10 years, Mildred had been very active at Just Friends Adult Day Care Services. She was a longtime member of the Wesley Chapel Evangelical Methodist Church of Columbus where she had taught Sunday school.
She is survived by sons, Roger and Kenneth Love; a daughter, Linda (David) Moss, all of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Richards of Nineveh; and a brother, Hank Garris of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Love on August 30, 1992; a daughter, Deborah Darlene Love on July 25, 2004; a sister, Diana Pierson; a brother, Albert Garris; and a great-granddaughter, Zoé Love.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Sarah Bartlett officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
