Nancy J. Smith Shockley, 75, widow of Fred B. Shockley, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY. Born Sept. 22, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Nell Buttry Smith.
In addition to being a graduate of Nicholasville High School, she was retired from McAlpin's and was a former member of Broadway Christian Church.
She is survived by her son, Bart (Debra) Shockley of Midway, KY; her daughter, Hope Ramos of Lexington, KY; and two grandchildren, Frankie (Heather) Ramos and Rebecca Ramos, both of Lexington, KY.
Along with her late husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Nat, and Ray Smith.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY, with burial to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504.
