Edward Wiliam Hoeltke, 82, of Tannehill Road, went to be with the Lord at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Care Facility after a lengthy illness.
Edward was a founding member of Grace Lutheran Church. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Edward was a farmer and an employee at Columbus Silgas Inc.
He enjoyed RV traveling and being involved in his grandchildren's activities.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor John Armstrong officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Grace Lutheran Church Foundation.
Edward was born Sept. 19, 1930 in Columbus, the son of Otto and Edna Rittman Hoeltke. He married Nancy Voelz March 10, 1973,
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, J. Matthew (Kim) Swope of of Columbus: a stepdaughter, Laura (Dan) Shoultz of Columbus; grandchildren, William Swope, Hadlee Swope, Keaton Shoultz, and Quin Shoultz all of Columbus; nieces and nephews, David (Betsy) Steinbarger, Sue Ann (Ben) Lorenz, Michael (Angie) Steinbarger, Debra Binkley, Mark (Debby) Steinbarger, Larry (Mary Jane) Hoeltke, Dennis (Janice) Hoeltke, Beverly (Jim) Pence; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, C. Evans Hoeltke; and a sister, Nelda Steinbarger Voelz.
