Phyllis J. Westerfield, 81, of Columbus, died at 9:42 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care of Columbus.
Phyllis was born in Bartholomew County August 16, 1931, to the late Earl and Bernice Andrews. She married Thomas D. Westerfield in Columbus. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 2000.
Phyllis was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was formerly employed in the Bartholomew County Treasurer's Office and at Future Tool Engineering. She enjoyed singing at the senior center and in the Asbury United Methodist Church choir.
Phyllis loved spending time with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor David Blystone officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the donor's choice of charities.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Greg (Barb Barnes) Westerfield of Columbus, Phil (Audrey) Westerfield of Columbus, and Tom (Angie) Westerfield of Columbus; brother, Earl Andrews of Washington; sister, Betty Mathis of Indianapolis; brother, Don (Barb) Andrews of Columbus; grandchildren, Matt Henson, Brooke (Evan) Burton, Braden (Ashley) Grider, Brennen Grider, Bryant Grider, Brileigh Westerfield, Logan Westerfield, and Nick Westerfield; great-granddaughter, Raelynn Grider; and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Bill Andrews; and a sister, Lois Flynn.
