Catherine Louise Paris, age 98, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Born January 14, 1915, in Trafalgar, Indiana, she was the daughter of Forrest and Opal Walker.
She graduated from Hopewell High School near Franklin. She married Harold R. Paris in Trafalgar, September 22, 1934. They resided in Franklin until 1940 when they moved to Columbus where they lived 49 years. Upon retirement, they moved to Florida until 1994 when they returned to Indiana and moved into the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
Mrs. Paris was a homemaker, office manager for Paris Radio and TV Services and a Stanley Home Products representative for several years. She was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star, Columbus Chapter, and served as Worthy Matron in 1955. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years; a son, Robert G. Paris; a grandson, Todd Paris; a sister, Margaret Records; a brother, Gerald Walker; and a great-grandson.
She is survived by a son, James K. (Sue) Paris; grandchildren, Robert Paris, James A. (Karen) Paris, Lisa (Doug) Chaplin, Leslie (Don) Brown, Keith Paris and Tami (Joe) Estep; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
A celebration of life will be held at 11a.m. Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St. in Columbus, with Chaplain Charles Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
