Arline Virginia Cooper, 91, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Greenwood Village Nursing Home in Greenwood.
Arline was born on December 19, 1921 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Denford Phillips and Tillie Funke Phillips. She married Dale Lindsey Cooper on November 29, 1942 in Denver, Colorado; he preceded her in death on July 6, 2005.
Arline was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastern Star. She graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis and attended Butler University. Her enjoyments were spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, Steve (Jean) Cooper of Brookeville, Wisconsin, Larry (Susan) Cooper of Atlanta, Georgia, and Don (Judy) Cooper of North Vernon; one daughter, Bonnie (Pete) Mattick of Greenwood; one brother, Jack Phillips of Sarasota, Florida; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Ronald Cooper; and two brothers, Denny and Richard Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Kendall Wildey officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 5 until 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
