John T. Hardin, 81, of Wallace Avenue, died at 7:22 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Hardin was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Hamilton-Cosco and later was a welder at Arvin Industries and Noblitt Fabrication.
A family man, Mr. Hardin enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed membership at Columbus Moose Lodge, Edinburgh American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Full military honors will be presented by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Born in Ripley County September 10, 1931, Mr. Hardin was the son of James and Corella Webster Hardin. He married Elaine Goins April 10, 1952. She preceded him in death October 17, 2009.
Survivors include children, Connie Keller and Russell (Linda) Hardin, both of Columbus; sisters, Virginia Atwood of Augusta, GA, Florence Hall and Margie Wade, both of Columbus, and Alice Allen of Amarillo, TX; brothers, Ben (Jo) Hardin, Dick Hardin, and Todd Hardin, all of Columbus; five grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; a great-granddaughter; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his guardian angels, Karen, Nancy, Lynette, Susan, and Rhonda.
Mr. Hardin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, John D. Hardin; granddaughters, Deeann Keller and Amanda Hardin; and several brothers and sisters.
