Gilbert V. Maschino, 88, of Four Corners, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at his home.
Born September 28, 1924, in Jennings County, he was the son of the late Carl W. and Anna M. (Gerth) Maschino. On March 2, 1957, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Millhousen, IN, he married Rose Mary E. Stuhrenberg, who survives.
Mr. Maschino was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Four Corners. He loved the land and spent his lifetime farming. He was a member of Knights of Columbus of North Vernon and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Albert Maschino, Anna Marie Maschino, Mike (Peggy) Maschino, Joe Maschino, and Rose (Allen) Riggle; brothers, Charles Maschino and Dale Maschino; a sister, Mary Ann Gusti; grandchildren, Kari (Aaron) Bright, Michelle Maschino, Tonya Maschino, Heather Smolar, Dane Smolar, Victor Riggle, and Leah Riggle; a great-grandchild, Abel Bright; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol Maschino; an infant sister, Elizabeth Maschino; and brothers, Louis and Donald Maschino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Four Corners, on Saturday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jonathan Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Four Corners, with a Voss Dove Release. Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel in Seymour Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at Voss Chapel from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. There will be a Rosary service Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Voss Chapel.
