Irene Louise Wagner, 92, of Fourth Street, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Irene retired from Sears after 25 years of service then retired from Mayflower Moving Company. She was a 70-year member of the New Hope Christian Church where she attended Bible study and volunteered at V.B.S. and in the nursery. She was also a member of the church's knitting club which made quilts for people in need.
Funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at New Hope Christian Church, 1404 W. County Road 400N, with the Rev. John Sichting officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at New Hope Christian Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church.
Born in Birdseye March 8, 1921, Irene was the daughter of Sam and Ethel Jacobs. She married Kenneth Wagner Dec. 22, 1940. He preceded her in death June 22, 2008.
She is survived by a son, Jack Wagner of Centennial, CO; a brother, Ray Jacobs of Florida; a sister, Dovie (Lewie) Uffman of Florida; grandchildren, Vance (Becky) Wagner, Randy (Beth) Wagner, Mark (Julie) Wagner, Brent Wagner and Todd Fivecoat; great-grandchildren, Ashley Hein, Vance Wagner Jr., Bradley Wagner, Zohie Wagner, John and Jack Wagner; and great-great-grandchildren, Bergen Hein and Sören Hein.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Jim Wagner; brothers, Herschel Jacobs, Russell Jacobs and Farrel Jacobs; and sisters, Doris Fischer and Erma Jacobs.
