Wilma Sue Barnhill, 72, of Columbus, died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Wilma was born in Williamsburg, Ky., March 23, 1941, the daughter of the late William Martin and Beatrice Anderson Wilson. She married Noble Richard Barnhill on February 2, 1959, in Williamsburg, Ky., and he survives.
Wilma had worked for Cummins Engine Company at Plant 1 for 15 years. She enjoyed watching the birds, her flower gardens, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a daughter, Peggy (John) Crow of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, David (Courtney) Barnhill of Columbus; sisters Vera Jean (Kenneth) Rickett, Rucella (Bill) Rose and Doris (Henry) Lee, all of Williamsburg, Ky.; brothers, Johnny Wilson, Middlesboro, Ky., Eugene ((Loretta) Wilson and Roger (Charlene) Wilson, all of New Boston Mich.; grandchildren, Brittany (Rollie) Abshire of Atlanta, Ga., and Breylyn (AC2 Joshua) Henry of Fresno, Calif.; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Michael Henry of Fresno, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edith Teague and Phyllis Partin; and brothers, Garfield, Leonard, Charles and James Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Daniel Coblentz officiating. Calling will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
