Dr. Christopher William Galbreath, 52, passed away at his residence in New Whiteland on Sunday, August 11, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Chris was born May 15, 1961, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Bill and Carol (Graft) Galbreath. He married Dawn Smith Oct. 25, 2000, in Indianapolis.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, serving his country from 1984 to 1990, and graduated from Purdue University in 1996 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, with high honors. Chris had a passion for caring for animals and was honored to be part of the Bean Blossom Animal Clinic family for 6 years.
He cherished time with his family and loved fishing with son Joshua. He enjoyed true worship and serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Galbreath; son, Joshua L.T. Galbreath of New Whiteland; stepdaughters, Hannah Johnson of New Whiteland and Mariah Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona; his mother, Carol Galbreath of Winchester; his father, Bill Galbreath of Richmond; and brother, Jeremy Galbreath of Perth, Australia.
A celebration of his life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Grace Assembly of God Church, 6822 U.S. Hwy. 31 North, Whiteland. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a college savings account has been established for Joshua. Donations may be made payable to Edward Jones Investments, with "Joshua Galbreath" on the memo line, and mailed to 502 Main St., Beech Grove, IN 46107.
