Elaine Ruth Crompton, 73, of Columbus, died at 8:03 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her home.
Elaine was an office manager in the health care profession. A flower gardener, she especially enjoyed roses.
A devoted wife to her husband John for 46 years, a devoted mom and a loving Nana. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Westside Community Church, 4286 Jonathan Moore Pike. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or IU Simon Cancer Center for Multiple Myeloma Research.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, April 28, 1940, the daughter of Stanley B. and Grace V. Sword Pierce. She married John Frank Crompton on September 4, 1960. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2006.
Survivors include her children, Karen C. Ketchum of California and Dave J. Crompton of Columbus; a sister, Barbara J. Partridge of Foxboro, MA; grandchildren, Taylor Crompton, Andrew Ketchum, Courtney Crompton and Stephen Ketchum and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
