Jacquelin Hoy-Ewing, 66 of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Jackie was born on December 10, 1946 in Greensburg, the daughter of Jessie and Jean Hoy. Jackie was a 1965 graduate of Greensburg High School. On September 12, 1970 she married Charles W. “Bill” Ewing at the United Methodist Church in Greensburg and he survives.
Jackie worked at the Fifth Third Bank in Greensburg, starting as a teller and working her way up to a Loan Officer. She retired from Fifth Third in 2009 after 32 years of service. Jackie had many hobbies; she enjoyed painting, gardening, traveling, and basket making as well as collecting baskets and pottery. Jackie never missed a chance to participate in Bowl for Kids Sake or walk in the Relay for Life. She especially loved spending time with her family and playing games with them like dominoes.
Survivors include her husband Charles; her sister, Jennifer (Clarence “Ed”) of Greensburg; her brother, Jeffery (Susan) Hoy of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
