Paul Vernon Roberts, age 75, of Columbus, IN, entered this life on October 10, 1937, in Vevay, IN, the loving son of the late, Raymond C. and Lela (Griffith) Roberts. He was raised in Vevay, where he was a 1956 graduate of Vevay High School. Paul was united in marriage on January 22, 1956, in Lawrenceburg, IN, to Georgine Marie Hall and to this union arrived two sons and a daughter to bless their home.
Paul and Georgine resided and shared the past 57 years of marriage together in Columbus, IN, until his death. Paul retired in 1985 after 35 years of service at Cummins Engine Co. where he was an engine tester. He will be remembered for his love of NASCAR and watching sports, especially the Colts.
Paul died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Paul Michael Roberts and his wife, Laura, of Memphis, TN, and Raymond Lance Roberts of Peoria, IL; a daughter, Janet Christine Jones and her husband, Don, of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Keri Harbison, Noah Roberts, Laura Roberts, Isaiah Roberts and Tyler Roberts; sisters, Lois Blodgett of Lawrenceburg, IN, and udy Kehrer of Georgetown, IN; and a niece, Shannon Blodgett of Lawrenceburg, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, IN 47043. Interment will follow at Brooksburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
