Thomas Frank Crusinberry, 91, of Sarasota, FL, died Aug. 26, 2013. He was born Sept. 1, 1921, to Clem and Pansy (Hastings) Crusinberry in Sioux Falls, SD.
He served in the Army during World War II, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Tom graduated from South Dakota State University with a BS degree in mechanical engineering and moved to Detroit, where he was employed by Ford Tractor Company. After retiring from Ford, he helped set up Claas of America in Columbus, IN, then moved to Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John; his first wife, Kathryn; and his son, Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; daughter, Barbara (Jim) Reck of Iowa City, IA; daughter-in-law, Susan Crusinberry of Columbus, IN; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 790 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL.
Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238, or to the Music Fund at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
