Lorene Bond Prewitt, 90, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, in Dallas TX.
Lorene was a graduate of Columbus High School, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elihu Bond, deceased, and sister of Wilma Bond, deceased. After graduation she worked as secretary in the Columbus High School office and later was secretary for the superintendent of Columbus Public Schools.
Lorene married Bob Prewitt, also of Columbus, and moved to Dallas in 1946 where she became secretary to the President of Hillcrest State Bank. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree and Master's in Education at SMU. She taught 28 years at Bradfield Elementary School in the Highland Park Independent School District, in the lower grades.
She had two daughters, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at Cox Chapel on August 30, 2013.
Lorene leaves several relatives in the Columbus area.
