Carl Thomas Birge, age 75, of Elizabethtown, Ind,. died Thursday, August 29, 2013, in Elizabethtown. He was a son of the late Eddie Ray and Ruby Ellender (Jackson) Birge.
Mr. Birge retired from Golden Foundry after 43 years of service.
He is survived by one son, Terry Birge and wife Lorie of Indiana; three daughters, Naomi MacKeen and husband Tom of Florida, Ellen Woodcock and husband Brad and Karen Hendershot and husband Steve, both of Indiana; eight grandchildren, Raeanne Castor, Thomas Lipps, Ryan Woodcock, Kristin Woodcock, Trey Sanders, Autumn Sanders, Zoie Hendershot and Malorie Hendershot; one great-granddaughter, Raelyn Castor; and one special friend, Jamie Farlee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Birge, and one brother, Kenneth Birge.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade, Ky., with Rev. Glen Poynter officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery.
